We accept piano students from age 3 and violin students from age 4. Younger children have shorter lessons (30 minutes) with parents present, focusing on musical games, ear training, and gentle introduction to the instrument.

Absolutely not. We have adult students at every level — from complete beginners to those returning after decades. Adult learners often progress quickly because they have focus and motivation.

For piano, you'll need access to a keyboard or piano for home practice — even a basic 61-key keyboard works for the first few months. For violin, we can advise on size and where to rent or buy an appropriate beginner instrument before your first lesson.

Weekly lessons are standard and produce the best results. Some adult students prefer fortnightly. We arrange lessons at consistent weekly times where possible.

Yes — most of our students sit for ABRSM Practical and Theory examinations. The path from Initial Grade through Grade 8 (and beyond, to diploma) forms the backbone of our curriculum, though we adapt it for students who prefer to learn without exams.

Every July/August we host Music for the Young, our annual student concert. Participation is encouraged but never compulsory. We've found that students who perform regularly grow far more confident — not just in music, but in life.
